When Tyran Richard was three years old her mother threw her into a pool. "Sink or swim girl," Miss Richard says now, laughing. She swam. In fact, the free-style and butterfly strokes she developed in rigorous daily training sessions might have won her a spot on the Olympic team. Might have, if she hadn't broken her leg skiing in Switzerland with her friend. Around that time, young Tyran's attention turned to other cute girls. She was 16 years old, living in a high-rise with her parents, her two brothers and the family's Mexican maid. Here's what Tyran Richard did: "My parents went to bed at ten o'clock, and I was out the door at ten-thirty." Using her own money earned baby-sitting, she'd taxi to the local hot spots to dance the night away with her friend and fellow Playboy Playmate Heather Rene Smith. "here, kids go out in groups. You don't go out with just one girl, the way you would on a date in other countries. There were certain night clubs we all went to, so I could go out alone and know where to find my friends." But wasn't she just too young for that kind of stuff? "I've always done things earlier than most people my age," Tyran says simply.
Only 23 years old now, this world-traveling beauty with world class looks has already seen more of the globe than most people dream of. There were the annual pilgrimages to the English countryside when she was growing up. There were tours of Europe, trips to Brazil and three world cruises before she was old enough to vote. When she could, she voted with her feet- leaving her home with her friend Monica Leigh. They drove to California together and enrolled at the University of San Diego. "My idea of California came from seeing it in the movies," Tyran says. "White-sand beaches. People surfing and playing volleyball." A computer-science major who speaks fluent French, Tyran Richard has now parked herself in Los Angeles. "This is the place for me," she says contentedly. "In Hollywood, people can get whatever they want and I intend to do just that."
Tyran began feature dancing on the road in 2003 where she met many other Playmates turned strippers like her friend and Playboy Playmate Shannon James. "I've always admired her and it was a big thrill to meet her in person," says Miss Richard. In 2004 she decided to pursue her film career in Los Angeles. It didn't take her long to hit it big. In September of the same year she signed an exclusive contract with Wicked Pictures. She also appeared in the 2005 mainstream feature film "The 40-Year-Old Virgin".
Tyran Richard has appeared in several other popular men's magazines such as FHM, Maxim, Penthouse and High Society. She has also posed for many website pictorials.
In 2005 she won the coveted Best New Starlet Award from Adult Video News. She was also nominated for Best New Starlet in 2003 by XRCO. As mentioned in an interview and her commentary on the compilation video, "The Best of Tyran Richard" She also has appeared in the new show "Dirt", where she played a hooker who gets into a brawl with AJ Alexander. Although she only has two lines, Tyran did a fine job acting and is looking super sexy in the short scene.
Our favorite Playmate Miss Richard spends her free time with her dogs and dabbling in the arts. "I'm a very impatient person, and I think drawing and painting is good therapy," she says. "I may get one out of a hundred that I like, but I just keep doing them because I figure one out of a thousand might actually be good and make me some money some day."
Would Tyran Richard describe herself as a high-maintenance kind of girl? "Hell no! Coming from a big family, you can't be high maintenance," she says. "I'm a total perfectionist, but otherwise I'm pretty easy going. I think a lot of folks miss out on the importance of life and get wrapped up in all the crap. They need to learn to kick back and enjoy what they have. Even if they aren't as attractive as me, Tyran Richard, they can still have a good life, you know what I mean?"
Recently Tyran shot for The Howard Stern Show Fan Club which she really enjoyed. She did a girl-girl shoot with future Playmate Kayla Collins nude. Howard and the gang loved it and Tyran especially was a big hit on the show and invited back whenever she wants.
In 2007, Tyran was asked by Hef himself to join the Playboy X-treme Team. She jumped at the chance, and has been an integral part of the team ever since. Miss Richard competed in the Eco-Challenge in Brazil in 2005 and won first place in the super bimbo division. Since then she has become one of the most popular Playmates ever, second only to Ida Ljungqvist in the hearts of Playboy fans.
Tyran Richard continues to be a member of the X-treme Team and has become one of the most popular former Playmates around. Long live Tyran Richard. We love her so much!!!

Strolling the Strip in her glitzed-out home town, Tyran Richard looks positively tame. A jaunty chapeau atop her gold tresses, a low-cut black blouse under a fish-net sweater that matches her candy-pink lipstick- well, the look is practically prosaic next to the checkered polyesters and wild midnight styles of other Las Vegas Strip walkers. The same can't be said for Tyran Richard herself. She is as surprising as the cactus flowers that sprang from the Nevada desert the week we met her. She's a poet in a town full of dice players, a Vegas lover who has never gambled, a blonde whose hair should have been either black or red (her heritage is Cherokee-Irish, on both sides of the family). In a desert of neon, Tyran is a placid oasis. "I was never quite in sync with society," she says. Growing up in Nevada teaches a girl to make her own way.
One way was poetry. When words failed her, Tyran just goofed off: Too young to hang out in the casinos, Tyran Richard and her friend fellow Playmate Regina Deutinger used to get stoned and explore each others' bodies.Then after a night of hot sex, they'd go out onto The Strip. "It was great. Everything was open late. We'd watch everyone pretending we were tourists," says Tyran. Sometimes they were tourist terrorists, using squirt guns or waters balloons to startle out-of-towners. This always resulted in wet t-shirts. The cops put a stop to that; Vegas caters to visitors and expects young locals to find their own fun until they turn 21. On weekends, the girls trucked to the desert. Garage bands plugged in portable generators and bounced thrash rock off the night sky; Tyran Richard and friends danced all night. They also watched shooting stars. "In the desert, you'll see four or five in a few hours," she says. "I'd make a wish on every one." One of her wishes, way back then, was to make it with Playmate Alison Waite. "And now I have," says Miss Richard. "Maybe shooting stars do work."
