Video reviewed: Playboy Video Calendar: Tiffany Selby
I originally got this new Playboy DVD just for Tiffany Selby, but was pleasently surprised by the other beautiful nude models that are featured. None of them are quite as good as Tiffany, but they're all very solid without a bowser in the bunch. Tiffany's sequence wasn't the best I've ever seen, but it was still pretty good. My only real complaint is that I would have liked to have seen her from further away throughout the scene. Most of the shots in her intro sequence are very close-up so you don't to see the whole package. We know Tiffany Selby has a gorgeous face, so let's see her body guys! But apart from that one major flaw, this is a good solid addition to any DVD collection if you're into Playboy Playmates like Miss Selby.
Like I said, I bought this video for Tiffany but also liked the other Playmates in it. This DVD basically captures the best of the two eras of Playboy. In the past, calendar videos had very attractive Playmates to be sure, but the segments were always way too short and there was too much crap- too many costumes, elaborate sets, etc. But I must say that the video calenders of the last two or three years have changed. They have longer segments and less crap, but the Playmate quality seems to have suffered and doesn't seem to be what it once was. Janine Habeck, for instance, was a real dud. By no fault of hers, the camera just doesn't seem to follow her well and the lighting is lousy.
During the main program’s 45 minutes, we see Tiffany Selby in a mix of settings. The set-ups will seem familiar to fans of Playboy videos, as we’ve seen plenty of similar stuff in the past. Nothing new here, but it's good none the less. Six different vignettes form the majority of the video. In the first one, Miss Selby bounces around a Hollywood movie set and then she poses nude for a photographer who just happens to pass by. Playmate Ida Ljungqvist walks by and smiles at Tiffany, but nothing happens between them. This makes NO sense at all! Why would they tease us like that? But Tiffany looks awesome in her blue dress and heels. Too bad she didn't get out of them- she never takes off a stitch of clothing in this scene!
In the past with other Playboy video calendars I'd skip over a lot of the vignettes, but not in this one. With this video you get the longer segments and arguably the best overall crop of Playmates like Tiffany Selby ever on one of these calendars. Perhaps best of all, the camera work actually seems inspired here, unlike many Playboy fare that seems to say "Oh, I'm supposed to be focusing on the naked women now?" This video actually focuses on the girl and not the set. That's not to say that there isn't still some typical fluff here- it's still Playboy after all. They never spend too much on the production of their video calendars, but at least this one is done correctly. It's not perfect, however. The scene with fellow Playboy Playmate Valerie Mason is super hot, but overall, there should have been more Tiffany Selby footage and less of the other Playmates.
As we look at the supplements, we find a few things worth taking a look at. First we get some "behind the scenes" footage. These include glimpses of “Tiffany Selby’s Playboy Magazine Photo Shoot” and “Playmate of the Year Shoot”. Both work the same way, as we watch the sessions and hear comments from Miss Selby about the experience of shooting nude for Playboy. She adds pretty decent insight into the recreations of classic photos for the first featurette, but she gives us nothing of us in the second one. There she just talks about how amazing and wonderful everything was. This is exactly like every other video calandar I ever saw- the model just babbles on about how wonderful Playboy is and what a great time she had doing the shoot. Blah, blah, blah.
The next supplemental section is the biography. Like all the other Playmates have in the past, Tiffany Selby tells a little about herself as she's lounging by The Mansion pool with 2006 Playmate of the Year Kara Monaco. This scene is so boring that I almost fell asleep. Basically, if the Playmate isn't in the process of removing her clothes, I just don't care.
Let's get back to the meat of this DVD- Tiffany Selby naked! In the third scene she hams it up for the camera while wearing a white top and tight jeans. She's flexing her muscles and teasing us, then she suddenly appears topless wearing only a pair of bikini bottoms which is really nice. Next, Tiffany gets the full-frontal treatment while kneeling outdoors on the grass. The camera swings over to her nicely shaved kitty then pans up over her breasts and on to her beautiful face. Numerous shots of her completely nude follow, including her posing out on the grass and more of her silhouetted in the doorway. Then In the finish we see Miss Selby back in the white top and blue jeans she started in.
The last scene is the best by far as we get Playmates Tiffany Selby and Alison Waite nude in the same bed together. Tiffany is looking awesome as she does a slow striptease for the other Playboy Playmate. Then, when they're both good and wet, Tiffany breaks out a chrome dildo and works Tyran over until she has a screaming orgasm. She then returns the favor by taking turns licking Tiffany's perfect breasts and cute little pussy. The chemistry between the two is really good as they seem to be having a lot fun together. Tiffany is especially worked-up as she has several orgasms throughout the heated scene. If you're a big Tiffany Selby fan, then this scene alone will be worth the purchase price of this DVD.
The last scene is a real mystery to me. It starts out with a quick shot of our girl Tiffany laying in bed drifting off to sleep. We go into a dream sequence where we see Playmate Jordan Monroe slowly stripping. That's it- she takes her clothes off until she's completley nude. Then it fades to black and we see Miss Selby asleep with a big smile on her face. Are we to believe that Tiffany Selby dreams of other Playmates when she sleeps? Don't get me wrong, I like Jordan, but isn't this video about Tiffany? I guess Playboy had some time to fill and just stuck this crap in. Whatever.
So in conlusion, if you're a huge Tiffany Selby fan, then by all means, get this DVD. You'll enjoy it. But if you're only kind of into her and want to see lots of the other Playmates, then don't bother getting this because it's mostly about Miss Selby.
