Stephanie Larimore Video Review

I got this one solely for Stephanie Larimore and was surprised by the other beautiful models including, Patrice Hollis (absolutely breathtaking face), Amanda Paige,(kind of goofy looking, but has great tits) Lindsey Voulo, (best looking jew broad I've ever seen) and even the amazing Grace Kim (except for her phony funbags). The others that I haven't mentioned were good looking but as good as the few at the beginning. Stephanie Larimore' sequence was kind of lame but she is still very pretty. And while I would have liked to have seen Stephanie from further away she was still nice to look at, most of the shots in her intro sequence are very close-up so you don't to see the whole package. Apart from those few gripes, this is a good solid addition to any collection if you're into Playboy Playmates like Stephanie.

Sure, the Playboy 2006 Video Calendar is a slick production but fails to please this veiwer. As is the problem with Playboy's videos the company just doesn't want to let fans see "all" of their favorite Playmates like Stephanie Larimore. Now, I'm not talking about sleazy spread shots like fellow Playmate Tiffany Selby does, but the lack of detailed "kitty" shots that show what each centerfold has is very frustrating. If you like fake breast shots, then pick it up. However, if you wish to see what the Playmates have under[neath] keep dreaming. This video makes me long for natural chested Playmates like Jillian Grace whose breasts are a site to behold. But oh well, you can't have everything I guess. Besides her fake tits, Stephanie is pretty damn hot and fun to watch.

Playmate Stephanie tells a little about herself while we see her frolicking in a cowboy setting. She’s got the black hat and the ripped up blue jeans. Next she appears topless wearing just the jeans. She throws the hat in the air and when we return to Stephanie Larimore we get a little-full frontal through the skirt that leaves her lower regions exposed. Some use is made of a split screen. That was something filmmakers of the late 60s and early 70s made use of. This is the first time I think I’ve seen this utilized in a Playboy video.

The next scene has Stephanie Larimore in a more feminine looking green outfit, but she is still topless. There is a nice pan up her legs then, nice girl that she is, she raises her skirt, exposing her twat for us. We continue up over her breasts and to her face. Next Stephanie turns around for us and lifts her skirt again, giving all a nice view of her buns. Theshot continues up as Miss Larimore turns around and there are more nice shots of her breasts before the camera focuses on her pretty face. Then it pulls back to revel 1999 Playmate of the Year Hope Dworaczyk quietly playing with herself in the corner of the room. She was there all the time and was watching without Miss Larimore even knowing. Very hot!

The next scene is probably the best as superstar Jennifer Pershing drops by to pay a visit to our girl Stephanie. Next she trades in her skirt for a pair of tiny, yellow, string panties leaving the rest of her exposed. There is another pan up over her body in this state of undress then we go to the split screen again. On the left a close-up of Stephanie playfully hamming it up for the camera and on the right her dancing around in a transparent white dress leaving her body very viewable. We cut to her in the white dress and she does a spin for us, giving us a quick look at her buns. This is followed by a completely nude Stephanie except for a pair of cowboy boots. She is turned away from us and there is an even longer look at her buns. Miss Larimore poses a bit in a short denim skirt and a button up shirt mostly unbuttoned, exposing a lot of cleavage. A few more quick shots of her and Regina Deutinger together in different outfits add a nice touch. There are some nice, full-frontal pans over her body as she stands, then we pan into her as she lies on her side. Back to the yellow panties, but this time we get to see Stephanie strip them off, exposing lower frontal nudity along with her already exposed breasts. Next she’s back in the black skirt with the opening in the middle and she’s not wearing panties. There’s a nice pan up to Miss Larimore's face to end this portion of her video.

We then cut to an old farm house which looks like it needs a coat of paint. Playmate Stephanie is on the porch wearing another transparent dress and nothing underneath. She next walks through a door and slinks through her bedroom. She applies lipstick then the dress disappears off of her but panties and a bra suddenly appear on her. She crawls into bed and lays across the covers. Next Stephanie kneels on the bed and takes off her bra while fellow Playmate Jordan Monroe plays with herself while looking seductively at Stephanie. Next, we see Stephanie lie down on the bed and the director focuses on her panties as she pulls them off. She poses nude on the bed and the camera moves in for a number of great shots. She continues to pose completely nude and there are plenty of close-ups as the camera takes its time ogling every inch of her. After undergoing the careful study in her room Miss Larimore walks back out to the porch with the dress on, but this time it is just hanging loosely over her shoulders, allowing her to do even more full-frontal nudity as she walks out into the warm night. The scene captures even more footage of Stephanie’s nude body as she continues to pose for the camera.

The last scene is probably my favorite as we get Playmates Stephanie Larimore, Amber Campisi and Kelly Carrington all in the same bed together. Stephanie is looking amazing as usual as she does a slow, sexy striptease for the other girls. Then, when they're all good and wet, Miss Larimore breaks out a jelly double-dong and works the other two Playmates over until they each have screaming orgasms. They then recipricate by taking turns licking Stephanie's breasts and pussy. The chemistry between the three girls is excellent as they really seem to want to be there. Stephanie is especially horny as she has multiple orgasms throught the scene. If you're a big Stephanie Larimore fan, then this scene alone will be worth the purchase price for you.

This DVD basically captures the best of two eras of Playboy. Older calendars had very stunning Playmates, but the segments were too short and there were too many costumes and such. The calenders of the last two or three years have longer segments, but the Playmate quality isn't what it once was (there are ones in the new DVDs I just skip over, you sure shouldn't be doing that here), and the camera work is often uninspired. But in this one, you get the longer segments and arguably the best overall crop of Playmates like Stephanie Larimore ever on one of these calendars. Perhaps best of all the camera work actually seems inspired here, unlike many Playboy fare that seems to say "Oh, I'm supposed to be focusing on the naked women?" or the last couple of calendars where the cameramen must have been thinking "can we get this over with so I can go on my cigarette break?" That's not to say that there isn't still some "fluff" here; it's still Playboy after all, they're not going to get the camera work perfect. But it's the best effort I've seen from them.

During the main program’s 32 minutes, we see Miss Larimore in a mix of settings. The set-ups will seem familiar to fans of Playboy videos, as we’ve seen plenty of similar material in the past. Five vignettes form the majority of the piece. Playmate Stephanie bounces around a movie lot to a country tune and then she poses in an artist loft. In one fantasy sequence, she snags some dude’s cameraphone and takes nude shots of herself, while in another, movie-star Miss Larimore escapes paparazzi and then poses for a different guy on a rooftop and in a large theater. The other elements show Stephanie in classic pinup poses which are kind of nice for a change. Miss Larimore looks great in classic 1940's looks and poses. Would have been nice if fellow 2007 Playmate Heather Rene Smith had been in the scene with Stephanie, but it didn't happen even though she's on the cover.

In between these pictorial elements Stephanie chats about her life and her personality. She also tells us about her experiences at Playboy. These don’t fill a lot of time, however, as the vignettes dominate the program.
As always, we learn little real information about the model. Playmates always talk in generic tones about themselves and their careers, so these Miss Larimore segments quickly turn tedious. I suppose the DVDs have to include them, but they’re eminently skippable.

Unfortunately, I find little reason to rewatch any of Stephanie Larimore’s nude vignettes either. Granted, she was going to be a tough sell for me due to her chest. I really don’t like implants, and hers look bad here. In photos, they often seem surprisingly decent, but in these videos, her breasts come across as hard and bulbous. This spreads to Miss Larimore herself, as she lacks the “girl next door” charm of the best Playboy models like, say Monica Leigh, who Stephanie can't even begin to measure up to in my opinion.

That leaves this Video Centerfold as a disappointing dud. I may not be wild about Miss Larimore, but I certainly expected hotter action than what I found in this dull video, especially since I’ve seen many sexy vignettes that featured models I find to be significantly less attractive. Hell, Girls Gone Wild videos are hotter and that's saying a lot. Ultimately, Stephanie lacks presence and charisma in front of the camera, and the director fails to do anything to spice up the proceedings. This is a weak Playboy product.

The DVD Grades: Picture B-/ Audio B+/ Bonus B-

Playboy Video Centerfold: Playmate Stephanie Larimore appears in an aspect ratio of 1.33:1 on this single-sided, single-layered DVD; due to those dimensions, the image has not been enhanced for 16X9 televisions. While not perfect, Year was better looking than most Playboy products. Colors was mostly positive. The tones consistently looked natural and vibrant. Overall, the main problems was softness, but the program was still attractive enough for a “B-“. Sharpness seemed decent. At times, some softness popped up, usually due to a gauzy style of photography apparently meant to smooth out some of Stephanie Larimore’s harder edges. Delineation was erratic, as some shots were crisp and concise while others looked liked they’d smeared Vaseline on the lens. Overall definition was fine, and only occasional, minor instances of jagged edges or shimmering occurred. As for source flaws, I noticed a little video artifacting but that was it.

The Dolby Surround 2.0 soundtrack seemed more ordinary, though it was a little better than other Playboy mixes. The soundfield only moderately broadened out from the center. Most elements stayed in the middle, but music showed some Larimore spread. Those elements heavily dominated the program, and the songs blended mildly to the side and surround channels. Dialogue stayed in the middle, and the occasional effects remained centered as well other than some light echo.

As we head to the supplements, we find a few materials. First we get some Behind the Scenes. These include glimpses of “Stephanie Larimore’s Playboy Magazine Photo Shoot” and “Playmate of the Year DVD Shoot”. Both work the same way, as we watch the sessions and hear comments from Stephanie about the experiences. She adds pretty decent insight into the recreations of classic photos for the first featurette, but she gives us nothing of us in the second one. There she just talks about how Stephanie Larimore is amazing and wonderful everything was on her shoot with super hot models The Shannon twins. This gets old real soon as they never even show the shoot with Lisa that Stephanie is talking about! It's very frustrating and made me angry.

So in conlusion: if your a huge Stephanie Larimore fan, then by all means, get this DVD. You'll enjoy it. But if you're only kind of into Miss Larimore and want to see the other girls then don't bother because it's mostly about Stephanie.
