Like most small town girls that become Playboy Playmates, Monica made the decision to skip college and use her new found fame as a stepping stone to stardom. So she packed her bags and headed out to Hollywood to become a huge star. But what Monica Leigh didn't know was that there are thousands of beautiful young girls with the exact same dream coming to Los Angeles every day. She also didn't realize that being a Playboy Playmate doesn't really do much for a girls' career these days, and can often hurt if she's going for a more "mainstream" hosting gig on television.
Though her movie roles have consisted of token appearances on camera, Monica Leigh is adamant about continuing her acting career, "I want to be bigger than any Playboy Playmate ever" she says. We were glad to learn that Monica Leigh was a dental assistant before getting discovered, proving to some that she is more than just a pretty face. But perhaps Monica's best talent is for goldigging. After a modeling scout discovered her, Monica Leigh was propelled into shoots for Carabella, Venus Swimwear and in September 2005, Playboy magazine made her a Playmate of the month for March of 2006. She was a spokeswoman for 24 Hour Fitness and Coors before landing guests spots on popular TV shows such as Beverly Hills, 90210, Babylon 5 and V.I.P. Monica finally received a stable job when she landed a spot as one of Barker's Beauties on The Price is Right. No longer with the popular game show, Miss Leigh has hosted several E! shows such as Wild On and appeared in abbreviated roles in "Bimbo Bowling" where she played opposite Stephanie Larimore. in the summer of 2004. "There was some tension on the set between Charlie and I, her being a Pet and me a Playmate and all. But after the shoot, we went out for drinks. We got wasted and ended up having sex that night.
