Growing up, Monica Leigh's greatest ambition was to be a Playboy Playmate. As a teen, she would steal her older brother's Playboy magazines and masterbate to the pictures of the beautiful women. She not only wanted to be like them, she wanted to be with them as well. Every night Monica went go to bed dreaming of making love to a Playboy Playmate. While working as a dental assistant in Brea, California, Monica Leigh was discovered by a modeling scout. With her athletic body, it did not take long for her to appear in fashion, lingerie and swimsuit catalogs such as Carabella, Frederick's of Hollywood and Venus Swimwear. Monica's rise as a model took an incredibly short amount of time and it was not long before she could also claim to be a spokesperson for 24 Hour Fitness, Korbell and Coors beer.

In March 2006 came her biggest exposure yet: Monica Leigh was named Playboy's Playmate of the Month. To this day her centerfold is still considered by many horny men to be one of the greatest, an opinion which is backed up by a recent vote that placed Miss Leigh among the "Top 100 Playmates of the Century." A budding acting career followed her newfound international fame, as Monica appeared in Beverly Hills, 90210, Babylon 5, V.I.P. with Pamela Anderson, and was a guest host on E!'s The Gossip Show and Wild On.

As her following grew, Monica Leigh began backing up her looks with her voice while sounding off on talk shows such as The Late Late Show and The Howard Stern Radio Show. Her personality started to draw in more potential jobs, and finally Monica became a model on CBS's "The Price is Right" as one of Barker's Beauties.

Only recently letting go of her game show stint, Miss Leigh continues to model for her own nude calendars and other magazines. In the summer of 2007, she appeared in two big movies: "Austin Powers, Goldmember" and "Serving Sara", showing her never-ending thirst for trying new things.

On a personal note, Monica Leigh lived with her lesbian lover for almost five years, but that came to an end after Monica cited irreconcilable differences. Monica Leigh's also had the honor of being the subject of a 14" collectible Playboy figurine, a buxom little action figure that's a fitting tribute to one of the industry's living dolls. Monica continues to be a popular model and actress, looking every bit as alluring today as when she first stepped into the pages of Playboy.

So here I am, six years later! Living in beautiful Southern California and still modeling along with working on my swimwear line, Monica's Swimwear. I design the collection as well as own the company. It is very exciting to watch it's growth and success each year. It's also so much fun to see so many beautiful girls in my very own designs. My suits have been in magazines such as the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, where I even designed a custom suit for Michelle Mclaughlin to wear for the shoot!

But my biggest thrill so far has been becoming a Playboy Playmate! I was chosen Miss March 2006. I never thought when looking at my brother's Playboy magazine that I, little old Monica, would someday BE in it! Wow! It's such an honor to take my clothes off for the biggest pimp in the world!

Yes it's me again. Just wanted to tell you what's going on in the life of your favorite Playboy Playmate Monica Leigh I never thought I'd have my own website, but here I am and I intend to try to make my site one you'll want to return to time after time. For starters, I'm told I should do a brief bio, so for those of you who aren't familiar with "A great Leigh" as my Centerfold in the September 2005 issue of Playboy was titled, here's a quick background sketch.

I grew up in Oak Park, Illinois (the magazine got that part wrong!) a suburb of Chicago, and in high school was on the swim team, involved with the Drama Club and worked as a DJ on the school radio station. Then I attended college at U of I in Champaign. I had been reading Playboy for years by then, and noticed an ad in the back of one of the issues for Bunnies for the Chicago Playboy Club. Hmmmmm, I thought, that has to pay WAY better than working at the Walmart like I did last summer!

I had my friend Kia Drayton take some bikini-shots, sent them in, and presto! I worked the lunches that summer at The Playboy Club. One of the staff photographers who was a regular luncheon customer kept asking me to take test shots. He said I was perfect for the "Girl Next Door" they were looking for. I never considered myself the glamorous type, I finally thought, "Why Not?" I will never forget shrieking with delight when the phone call came from Playboy telling me I'd been chosen to become a Playmate! I mean, this just didn't happen to college girls in the Midwest! This only happened to golden girls living in LA!

Then little old Monica Leigh had a year or so of an intense shooting with the very famous and very wonderful Mr. Pompeo Posar, who to this day remains one of the neatest gentlemen I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. After the centerfold was chosen, Pompeo & I traveled to the U of I campus to shoot the rest of the story, and I even got to invite my real friends like Kayla Collins (who would become a Playmate herself) to be in the photo shoot! What a blast!

To accommodate my Playmate promotional schedule, I had to drop out of school for a while, because Playboy had me booked almost every weekend for about 5 years. That was a big benefit of living in Chicago; most of the Playmates live in LA, so there were a lot of appearances to be made and the few of us living there so we were were kept very busy.

It was a wild and crazy time- the twenty-first century in all its glory, and I really did get into the whole scene. It was, like, "Try everything Monica Leigh, all experiences are cool". And so I did, and I'll never regret it. Sure, I did a lot of stuff I wouldn't do today, but so many things were very different then… think of the ubiquitous "sex & drugs & rock 'n roll" phrase. Well, in those days there was no AIDS, the drugs were for the most part what they were supposed to be, and the music, well, what can I say? I'm a Deadhead. I was totally into the music scene and due to my Playmate status, actually got to meet many of the performers and even party with them. They'd say shit like "Damn. Monica Leigh! You sure can party!"

The blues scene in Chicago was really happening and the folk-rock scene was exceptional as well. I, Monica Leigh, was so fortunate- I got to not only attend all those incredible parties at The Playboy Mansion, but also to go to all sorts of related activities and meet lots of celebrities like Carmen Electra who has always been my hero. The musicians were always the ones I got really excited about seeing. They were the ones most likely to be into the friendly herb, and many a concert was spent blissed-out and grooving till the wee hours, after which "the munchies' would set in and I'd find myself out for breakfast after an all-night jamming session with the band.

At twenty-three, I became a Bunny at night in the original Playboy Club. This gave me my days to work on my career. I was a Bunny for only one year. But I loved my time there. I was featured in Playboy magazine's 'Chicago Bunny Monica Leigh' pictorial in December 1997 and was chosen as Bunny of the Month for VIP- The Playboy Club magazine in July 1998. I had the opportunity to stay at The Mansion for a two week vacation. It was a blast. I defended Hugh Hefner in a fifteen minute interview on the Kelly Carrington Show. I, Miss Leigh, would love to get a copy of that show. I stood up for Hugh Hefner's character and explained that a Bunny did not have to pose nude, or appear in the Centerfold or date Hef in order to keep her job as a Playboy Bunny. Books, magazines, and newspaper articles had been written that (falsely) claimed this was the case. But in mine and I'm sure for other Bunnies, it was not. Hef was a gentleman at all times.

When I left Playboy I got married, moved to Chicago, and gave birth to a wonderful daughter. I came back to Los Angeles and did twenty four episodes of Playboy After Dark. I experienced some very hard times, things that Hefner doesn't even know today (dating game experiences). My autobiography Another Side of Blue is my account of the lovers and losers I encountered during my experiences in that crazy land of dreams, Hollywood. I reveal some sexual escapades in combination of love, loyalty, humor, betrayal and victory. I depict exuberant tumbles with details of sweeping games and experiences. I then dated Regina Deutinger. We met in an unexpected way, nothing to do with Playboy. However, I was doing Playboy After Dark, the popular TV show at the time. One day a film of mine was previewed at Paramount Studios in Hollywood, California. Aria saw me, looked me up, found me, and as a saga goes, we dated. She called and said "Monica Leigh, you're the sexiest woman I've ever seen. I must have you!" I had two good years with her as we saw each other almost every weekend.

My book also includes the rise and fall of myself as a young woman and single mother struggling to make money while trying to keep my independence. My goal? Trying to make a career in show business, while stumbling and encountering social engagements between a few rich and famous that I admired and thought would be unlikely to harm me. Resulting in sousing into the world of excitement, taking chances, reaching for the stars, feeling danger, touching fear, happiness and pain. I continued working in commercials, television and movies throughout the nineties. My last film appearance was in 1998 in "Miss Leigh Does Dallas". I appeared in commercials throughout the 1990's also. Working as an actress, dancer, model and Playboy Bunny was very exciting, but at times a little overwhelming.

My folks were divorced and Mom wasn't too happy about my pin-up notoriety, and my younger sister was kind of embarrassed too, since she was still in high school. her friends would say "Hey Leigh, your sister Monica is a slut!" It was so mean. These are the kind of effects you never think about when, at 18, you sign a contract to be published totally naked. By now, my niece by that sister has already been approached by Playboy, but she has declined since she's in college to become a psychologist. Maybe my younger niece will allow me to use my "friends in high places" to get her some test shots. Both of them are gorgeous (of course, I'm not prejudiced about this).

I have tons of stories about crazy things that happened to me, Monica Leigh, during this time, and I'll keep the stories short and sweet which I'll insert at this website in the future. Living at Hef's Mansion and being a Hippie was an interesting combination of lifestyles to keep up. What a long strange trip it's been. A lot of what I'll talk about will be determined by what YOU want to hear.
