Kara Monaco

Avid Playboy readers already know what Kara Monaco did last summer: The angel-faced 23-year-old posed for the October 2005 issue's Girls of the Pac 10 cover. What the native of Portland, Oregon didn't anticipate was the reaction at her college, Oregon State University. "Maybe it's because I wear a baseball cap and sweatpants to class, but I didn't know other students knew I existed," Kara says. "Now they come up and hug me and ask me to sign the magazine They say stuff like "Aren't you a Playboy Playmate?" The guys especially like the nude girl-girl spread I did."

You may recognize sexy Kara Monaco from the pages Playboy Magazine where she was Miss June, 2005. If you did, after your read her centerfold questionnaire and the rest of the articles, you may have noticed her amazing lean, toned body. What you might not know is that Kara has a secret identity. She calls herslef "Vala" and is part of the world’s first super team of fitness. Their mission? To get the women of the world in shape and looking super HOT! One day a classmate of mine approached me on campus. She invited me to her dorm room. She was so beautiful that I couldn't resist her obvious advances. She told me that she was a centerfold and I believed her after seeing their amazing body. We proceeded to get really drunk and have wild lesbian sex with each other for five hours straight! It was so awesome. After that experience I was hooked on poontang and have been getting it on with my lover Amanda Paige on a daily basis ever since!

After Kara Monaco graduates this year, with a degree in business marketing, She and her sister plan to celebrate by backpacking nude through Europe. "I'm a spontaneous, outdoorsy type who has traveled a lot, but Oregon is the perfect place to live," she says. "I like its greenness, fresh air and beauty," says Miss Monaco. I like to ride my horse with my friend Playmate Regina Deutinger up a trail to this beautiful spot where you can see all the pretty mountains on a clear day. I go there when I'm stressed out or sad- as long as it's not hunting season," says Kara.

Most refreshing about Miss Monaco is her utter lack of artifice. When you look into the warm hazel eyes of this sweet-natured girl next door, you find no pretense, cynicism or delusions. "My happiness comes from being at home, whether it's with my mom and dad or, I hope, with a romantic interest later in life," Kara says. A sensitive manly man who enjoys the outdoors is the fella apt to win her heart. "I like the genuineness of shy guys," she says. "Girls can shave their legs and spend time thinking about what looks good, but I want a guy to just grab the first clothes he sees in the morning and be natural."

Like most prizes, Kara Monaco can be won only with some effort. "I find peace and solitude in being alone. It's when I'm at bars or clubs that I get bored," she says. "Is there something wrong with me?" We can't think of a single thing Kara.

Kara Monaco relates her most memorable Playboy moment as when she got to meet Qiana Chase, her childhood hero. "I've always admired her for being such a wonderful nude centerfold model. I mean, she's built her entire career on being a sex object. Not too many girls can do that successfully. I just hope I can be as fortunate," say Miss Monaco.

Coincidentally, Kara's older sister Kelly was also a Playboy Playmate. She may be best known for her roles in soap operas and "Dancing With the Stars", but she was also Playboy's Miss April 1997. "Not many people know that," says Kara. "I guess beauty really does run in the Monaco family and we all love being naked, so it just seamed natural to take our clothes off for Playboy."

According to Kara the move into the twenty-first century means one thing: the return of the sex goddess. And that, Miss Monaco predicts, means one other thing: the rebirth of Marilyn Monroe. "She was the ultimate," insists Kara, "with all that glamour, energy, beauty and innocence. That's what attracted people to her. And that's why my favorite compliment is when people tell me I remind them of her."

Kara Monaco's fascination with Marilyn isn't your ordinary fanzine stuff (though she does confess that her apartment walls are papered with the likenesses of the screen legend). "It goes further than that," she says. "I'd give anything to have that image, that vulnerability, that magic that made men fall all over her. We may not have had similar lives, but I do have the same dream she had, the same driven desire to succeed."

Both the dream and the drive began bubbling to the surface about five years ago, when Kara left her home in Oregon to attend college at a Catholic school in Austin, Texas. She'd selected it mainly for its solid theater program, but to her surprise, Miss Monaco took to the Texas capital like a lost cowgirl gone home- especially its heart-pumping nightlife on downtown's Sixth Street, a boulevard crammed with a variety of rock clubs. "Imagine suddenly having all these places to go," Kara remembers, "without having parents there to tell you when to be home. I was in heaven! My friend, fellow Playmate Jayde Nicole and I would party all night!"

Kara Monaco's first taste of stardom came when she was cast in a university production of "Grease." A theater-arts major who'd never actually been in a play before, she landed the part of Sandy. "Getting cast as her was the biggest thing for me, but it also caused some problems. Here I was just a sophomore and I beat out seniors for the big part. A lot of those other girls were really pissed!

Despite a successful stage debut, life in the spotlight came to a brief halt that summer when Kara Monaco moved to NYC to work as a flight attendant for a major airline. "The job itself isn't as glamorous as people think. In reality, it was an overrated, underpaid job that gave me some serious jet lag. I didn't last long and was back in school the following semester," says Kara.

"That was the semester that my friends the Campbel Twins told me that that Playboy was doing a search for "Girls of the Southwest Conference" , I knew I had to try out. I didn't tell anyone about it so I wouldn't be embarrassed if I didn't make it." But of course, Miss Monaco did make it, her magazine appearance impressing not only the locals but, more importantly, Hef himself. Playboy called and offered her a Playmate test shoot. It wasn't long before Kara Monaco became Miss June 2005 and then The 2006 Playmate of the Year!!!

Hi my name is Kara Monaco. Welcome to my personal page!

I was born in Oregon by age 13 I knew I wanted to get into modeling and conquer the world of glamour & fashion. At age 18 I entered a sports model search called "Miss Nude Bimbo". I was competing against a three time winner so I thought I had no chance, but to my surprise, I actaully won!!! Winning that opended the doors to so many oportunities within the modeling industry, I was blown away with where it took me. I traveled to amazing places like Argentina, Italy, Japan, Singapore, etc. My horizons were extrememly broadened by my amazing experiences at such the tender age of 18.

It was from there that I, little old Kara Monaco, decided to move to California & work the market in L.A. It wasn't too long before I was competing in pageants such as "Hawaiian Tropic International" where I was representing Oregon & came in 2nd runner-up which lead to magazine covers, TV appearances, TV hosting oportunities, & much much more.

I had my first theatrical experience in 2003 performing in the production of "Secret Bridesmaids Business" where the acting bug bit me. I got to work on great shows like the "Price is Right" as a Barker Beauty for a while which happens to be the longest running game show in history! I loved doing that show. Bob was kind of a pain in the ass because he was always hitting on me, but I really enjoyed hanging out with the other girls back stage in between games. Don't tell anyone this, but AJ Alexander and I use to fool around in the bathroom during breaks. It was so naughty!

With the rising success of my career no matter whether it's for runway, print, TV, or film, I give it my all & love the diversity my career offers. At the same time, enjoy my leisure time with playing sports such as volleyball, rollerblading, biking, go-karts, & jet-skiing.

Before I posed for Playboy, I would just sit on my couch with a magazine in hand, daydreaming about being the next Jessica Burciaga or Jenny McCarthy. They're some of the most beautiful women in the world, and Playboy made them stars. I knew I wanted to be one of those lucky women someday.

One night my girlfriend Grace Kim and I had a couple of drinks, took some sexy pictures, and sent them in to Playboy's offices. Imagine my surprise when Playboy's photo staff called me three days later. They said "Kara Monaco, you're the hottest chick that we've ever seen. You absolutely MUST be a Playmate!" I was so happy to know that Playboy saw something in me that they liked.

When I started shooting my Playmate pictorial, I didn't tell anyone in my family except my sister and mother. Oh, but did I pay for it! My grandmother happened to come across my issue at her local newspaper stand. She was so hurt that I didn't tell her, but she was really sweet about it and told me I looked beautiful. I guess I can't keep anything from her.

I've met so many great people through Playboy. I was nervous the first time I met Hef, because he's such an important figure in the world. But once you get to know him, he's a really sweet guy. I also envy him a little, having all those girlfriends. I wish I could have eight girlfriends too! I've made some great friends with other Playmates, too. I just adore Kia Drayton, who's Miss December 2006 (and appeared on the cover of her issue, just like me). She's so cute and so much fun to hang out with. I especially like going down on her sweet little twat. She gets so wet and juicy when I lick her there. "She say stuff like, "Damn, Kara, you give great head!" She's so sweet to say that. Whenever we hang out we have so much fun together. She taught me everything I know about pleasing a woman.

I enjoy going to parties at the Playboy Mansion with all the other Playmates. I always dress up in something wild and dance the night away. I'm very free with my body, so I enjoy wearing outfits that let me be as nude as possible. I love to people-watch and check out the decorations, because Hef is always so creative. His last Midsummer Night's Dream party was out of this world. Kelly Carrington and i got so drunk it wasn't even funny. We woke up the next day in bed together. Wish I could remember what happend! lol.

As much as I like parties at The Mansion, I have to say that I like its famous kitchen even more. They make the most phenomenal grilled cheese sandwiches. I can eat about four in one sitting! I love to stop by at 2 a.m. and get one. I also enjoy hanging at Hef's "Fun in the Sun" bashes, when the Mansion's pool deck is filled with gorgeous women enjoying the warm California sunshine. I don't make it there every week, but it sure is memorable whenever I do go (see my sexy story at the end of this page).

I, Kara Monaco, recently moved from Florida to Los Angeles, and in my free time I like to pour myself a nice glass of wine, flip on the tube and watch my new favorite sports team: the LA Lakers. But when it comes to the NFL, I know my roots - I'll always be a Tampa Bay fan. I'm also learning to play guitar right now, and my favorite song to cover is Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Monaco". I guess I'm just a tomboy at heart.

Because I'm a centerfold model, I'm totally committed to keeping my body in top shape. Whether I'm running or just doing cardio at the gym, I work out every single day. I don't eat whatever I want, but I don't deprive myself. I love meat and mashed potatoes, and my favorite food is pasta.

Since my Playmate pictorial I've continued modeling for Playboy- check me out as cover girl for the Playboy Store's Fall catalog. Being a Playmate has really enhanced my career here in Hollywood. I appeared in a segment on "The Man Show", which was a lot of fun. I also co-hosted a college football preview show on ABC, which was a great opportunity to mix my love for sports with my skills as an on-air personality. Someday I'd love to work for MTV and host a show like like Singled Out, or a travel show like E!'s "Wild On".

I'm so proud to be part of the Playboy family. It's exciting to be part of Hef's 50-year tradition of beautiful women. For all the women out there who've ever dreamed of becoming a Playmate, my advice is to project confidence in your pictures, because it will make you look very sexy. I, Kara Monaco, had a blast shooting my Playmate centerfold pictorial. Playboy's photo editors spread my shoot out over the course of several months, so it was a long process. My favorite shots were the bathroom scene, because I got to cover myself in body lotion. What girl wouldn't love that? The scene where I'm kissing Ida Ljungqvist started out as a joke on one of the photo editors, but they liked it so much that Playboy ended up using the shots. I love my centerfold and the wonderful tie I got to wear, and I even graced the cover of my issue, which was a huge honor. I couldn't be happier about it all. Being Kara Monaco is pretty cool, I must say.

Before I go, I want to tell you about the wildest sexual experience I ever had. It was the morning after a big Playboy party at The Mansion. I had a little too much to drink that night and stayed over in one of the guest bedrooms. So the next morning I woke to find not only Monica Leigh (who I had slept with that night) in my bed, but also Jillian Grace! She was a Playmate who had just moved into The Mansion. I didn't want to wake them, so I quietly snuck out of the bed, tiptoed to the bathroom and entered the shower. I, Kara Monaco, was getting myself worked-up while lathering my wet body. Thinking about the sex last night was getting me horny all over again! Just then, the shower door opened and it was Monica, Jillian, and brand new Playmate Laura Croft!
