Amber Campisi Video Review

After a couple of poor blonde-haired choices to start the 21st century, Playboy finally started to recognize brunettes. This meant the presence of Amber Campisi as PMOY '04. Not only did we get two straight dark-haired PMOYs, but the magazine also went against the silicone trend of recent years. Before Amber Campisi, 5 of the prior 7 PMOYs were clearly “enhanced” with big fake tits, but both came with wonderfully natural breasts.

All these years I’ve been disappointed by Playboy’s picks for Playmate of the Year rarely coincide with mine. I’m not sure that there’s ever been a year Hef and I agreed on PMOY, though some years I’m more disappointed than others. And now you can add Amber Campisi to the pile of let-downs. I thought 2005 presented two exceptional Playmates: Shannon James (Miss May) and Janine Habeck (Miss September). I liked some of the others as well, but those two stood out as easily the best the year had to offer.

All of this meant I thought there was little chance we’d get another brunette PMOY for 2005, much less one without implants, so there went my hopes for either to win. Well, my prediction was half-correct. Big breasted Amber Campisi is as dark-haired as they come, but she may have went under the knife before her Playboy experience. So while Playboy went with an unprecedented third-straight brunette PMOY, they picked the wrong one. Despite my disdain for breast implants, I still think I should like Amber Campisi, or at least find her more enticing than I do. This video makes me long for the more natural Playmates like Jillian Grace whose breasts are a site to behold. Although Amber's boob job is good, it just can't quite compare to the look (and feel) of naturals.

As she tells us a little about herself Amber Campisi dances in silhouette with a pink background. When we finally get to see her she is reclining on a couch wearing a pink bra and pink panties. More of Amber in silhouette and then she is seen nude in a glass chair. It’s a quick shot and only her breasts are seen. There is more of the silhouetted dancing and we go back and forth between shots of her in the bra and panties and the silhouette. Some quick nude pans of her body, not showing much more than her breasts, are also worked in. There follows more pans over Amber's nude body with the breasts as the focus. Maybe a slight, dark profile of her buns but it’s taking awhile to see much more. The entire time, smoking hot Playboy model Tamara Witmer is watching, quietly playing with herself. Finally a full-frontal shot as Miss Campisi lies on her side and the camera pans up over her parted legs, passed her kitty, over her breasts and to her face. There is a lot more of the silhouetted dancing and some more nude shots of Amber with the pink background, including one where she gets the full-frontal treatment again with the camera panning up over her butt, her breasts, and on to her face.

The scene changes and now we’re watching Amber and her friend Jessica Burciaga in front of a large, rustic house. She is wearing a white dress, which she opens for us showing lower frontal nudity. A little more in the dress and then Amber opens the dress showing full-frontal nudity. Finally she takes the dress off altogether, letting it drop to the floor. After a nice waist-up shot of her breasts and face the camera pans down as Amber turns around and we get a nice shots of her buns. Next Amber poses topless wearing white shear panties with some fabric wrapped around her shoulders. Not long after the panties are gone and Amber is dancing around the house with fellow Playmate Tiffany Selby. Now Amber opens a pair of windowed doors for us to show herself completely nude. After some shots of fruits and vegetables on a table there is another shot of fully nude Miss Campisi as she caresses her breasts. Next Amber pours some liquid over her beasts and rubs the fluid all over them. There are some nice close-ups of this. Next a great close-up shot of Amber’s buns covered with the liquid as she bends over slightly. There are more great close-up shots of Amber’s body covered with the liquid as a completely nude Dasha Astafieva slowly licks it off. Amber walks through the house nude in heels then she poses on a bed. More great nude shots of Amber follow, including a full-frontal close-up pan over her parted legs, passed her butt, breasts, and on to her face.

During the program’s 37 minutes, we see Amber Campisi in a mix of settings. The set-ups will seem familiar to fans of Playboy videos, as we’ve seen plenty of similar material in the past. Five vignettes form the majority of the piece. Amber Campisi bounces around a movie lot to a rock song and then she poses in an airplane while it flys around. In one fantasy sequence, she grabs a camera and takes nude shots of herself, while in another, movie-star Miss Campisi escapes paparazzi and then poses with 2007 Playmate of the Year Sara Jean Underwood in a super hot scene where they really get down and dirty. The other elements show Amber in classic pinup poses which are by far the best thing on this DVD.

In between these pictorial elements, Amber Campisi chats about her life and her personality. She also tells us about her experiences at Playboy. These don’t fill a lot of time, however, as the vignettes dominate the program.
As always, we learn little real information about the model. Playmates always talk in generic tones about themselves and their careers, so these Amber segments quickly turn tedious. I suppose the DVDs have to include them, but they’re eminently skippable as usual. We find out that she lives in Dallas and her family ownes a chain of Italian retaurants. So what, who cares? We want to hear about her lesbian experiances with other Playmates like Laura Croft, but she doesn't even talk about it here. What a jip.

That leaves this Video Centerfold as a disappointing dud. Except for one killer scene with Playboy Playmate Regina Deutinger, this video sucks. I may not be wild about Amber Campisi, but I certainly expected hotter action than what I found in this dull video, especially since I’ve seen many sexy vignettes that featured models I find to be much less attractive. Miss Campisi lacks presence and charisma in front of the camera, and the director fails to do anything to spice up the proceedings. This is a weak Playboy product unless you're just a huge Amber Campisi fan, I'd skip this one if I were you.
